I have been writing most of my life – in one form or another.
When I was young, I kept a journal; a practice that I continued into my 30s. While I don’t journal like I used to, there are always life moments – big and small, good and bad – that inspire me to write.
In my 20s, I discovered television production, which led me to screenwriting. Together with various writing partners, I wrote a number of short films and then, finally, a full-length feature script. That script still sits on a shelf…I hope that one day in the near future we’ll be able to dust it off and put it into production. And I keep all of those life moments simmering on the back burner, because, although I haven’t touched a script in nearly a decade, I know there will be a time for the stories to be told.
For the last 10 years, my writing has been in the news field – beginning as a staff writer and now as editor-in-chief for a monthly community newspaper in the Greater Phoenix area of Arizona. It’s a field that I have come to love and one that I hope to continue to grow in – one that is constantly evolving as we become more and more interconnected through technology. Some of my editorials and feature stories can be found here.
My love of writing stems from a love of reading, and of books in general. (Bookstores are dangerous places for me!) The drive to create has recently brought together these two passions and I have worked with a number of self-published authors to help them bring their literary works into being – whether it is complete editing, writing, design and layout, or simply typing a manuscript to send to a publisher, it is thrilling for me to be a part of the action.
I don’t know where I will find my next creative outlet, but I do know that I want to share my skills and creativity. So whether you need copy written or your manuscript edited, I can provide fresh, elegant results – on time and on budget. Let’s talk!
